# Welcome to Signal

![Signal Spirit welcomes you with an open guidebook](.gitbook/assets/spirit-docs-welcome.webp)

Signal is where tokens are launched and traded on **HyperEVM**, chain **999**, and where tokens on other chains can be traded from the same wallet. Three words cover the product:

- **Signal** is launching and trading.
- **Echo** is what flows back: rewards that buy more of a token for its holders, and protocol fees that buy $SIGNAL.
- **Helix** is the cross-chain part: paying for a coin on one chain with money on another.

Start at [signal.family](https://signal.family).

## Read a token's own terms

Two tokens on Signal can have different fees, different rules and different rewards. A Signal v4 launch fixes its rules in its contract when it is created, and the token's page shows them. Read them before you buy, and read the wallet request before you sign.

Rewards come from a token's actual trading fees. Holding alone creates nothing, payout timing is not guaranteed, and a token's price can fall to zero.

These guides describe the site and contracts as observed on **12 October 2026**. Things change. The site, [live configuration](https://signal.family/api/config) and the contracts themselves are the authority; where these pages and they disagree, they are right.
