signal.family and the Signal Family apps for iPhone and Android
Effective September 23, 2026. This replaces the version dated 2026-08-25.
These terms are an agreement between you and the team that runs signal.family ("Signal", "we", "us"). By using signal.family or the Signal Family apps (together, "Signal") you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Signal.
1. What Signal is
Signal is a window onto HyperEVM: a live record of on-chain trades, a place to say why you bought, and buttons that send transactions from your own wallet. We are an interface to public smart contracts. We are not a broker, an exchange, a custodian or an adviser.
2. Who can use Signal
You must be at least 18 and of legal age where you live, and allowed to use decentralized exchanges there. You may not use Signal if you are on a sanctions list, or located in or ordinarily resident in a country or region under comprehensive sanctions. The apps are offered only in some countries; do not use tricks to get around that. You are responsible for following the laws that apply to you, including tax.
3. Your account
You sign in with your email and a one-time code. Privy, our sign-in provider, creates and runs your account and your embedded wallet, and Privy's own terms apply to that service. Whoever controls your email can control your Signal account and the embedded wallet, so keep your email secure. Your username must follow section 9, and we may reclaim a username that impersonates someone or breaks these terms.
4. Your keys, your trades
- No custody. We never hold your funds or your keys. The embedded wallet's key is created and secured by Privy; Signal only asks the wallet to sign, and never sees the key.
- You sign every transaction. A trade is signed by your wallet and settled on chain. It is final the moment it lands. We cannot reverse, cancel or refund it.
- Instant trading. For a Signal wallet (email, Google or X sign-in) instant trading is on by default: a trade is sent the moment you tap Buy or Sell, without a second confirmation screen. You can turn it off on any trade ticket, and that choice is kept on your device. A wallet app of your own (MetaMask and the like) always confirms each trade in its own window. Sends, key exports and claims always keep the confirmation.
- Exporting your key. You can export the embedded wallet's key. Whoever has an exported key has everything in the wallet. After you export it, nothing Signal or Privy does can protect that wallet.
- Losing access. If you lose access to your email and have not exported your key, you may lose access to the wallet and its funds.
5. How trades work
- The ticket shows a quote, the route, the price impact and the minimum you will receive. Prices move between the quote and the moment your transaction lands; the minimum you accept (your slippage setting) is the limit.
- Swaps go through public pools on HyperEVM, sometimes through a public router contract. Some conversions can be sent without HYPE for gas: you sign a message, a relayer submits it, and the relayer's gas is repaid from the output, capped by what you signed. The contracts involved are public and verified.
- We may refuse to build a transaction, for example when a token fails its safety check or a route looks poisoned. A refusal is a protection, not a promise that other trades are safe.
6. Fees
Every transaction pays the network's gas and the pool's own fee. Signal's only fee is a share of the trading fee built into tokens launched on Signal; trades of other tokens pay Signal nothing. A token's fee and its split are fixed in its contract when it is created. The ticket shows what you will receive before you confirm.
7. Tokens carry real risk
- Anyone can create a token. Many tokens lose all their value. Some are built to trap buyers: they cannot be sold, or they copy another token's name and picture. Check the contract address, not the name.
- The safety check is a warning, not a guarantee. It tries a read-only buy and sell and reads the contract's settings. It can miss things and it can be wrong.
- Holder payouts are contract rules, not promises. Some tokens send part of their trading fees to their holders by rules written into their contracts. We show those payouts from on-chain records. We do not pay them, guarantee them or promise any amount. They depend on trading and can shrink, stop or be zero. A payout is not a dividend, interest or a return from Signal.
- Token creators are not Signal. Unless a token says it was launched by Signal from our published wallet, we did not create it and do not vouch for it.
- You can lose everything you put in. Prices move fast, liquidity can vanish, and smart contracts can fail.
8. Points and programs
Points record activity on Signal. They have no cash value, are not property, and cannot be sold or transferred. We can change how points are counted, and start, change or end any program, at any time. If a program pays anything, it has its own official rules and nothing is owed to you until a payout lands on a public ledger.
9. Community rules
Your content. You own what you post (your username, avatar, signals and messages). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, show, copy and share it as part of running and promoting Signal, for as long as it is on Signal. Calls are public and carry your name.
Signals are opinions. A signal is the opinion of the person who posts it. It is not advice from Signal. If you are paid, rewarded or compensated in any way to post a signal on a token, say so in the signal.
Not allowed, anywhere on Signal (usernames, avatars, signals, replies, messages, reports):
- anything illegal, or that helps someone break the law;
- sexual content of any kind involving minors, which we report to the authorities;
- sexual or pornographic content, and graphic violence;
- harassment, bullying, threats, and hate against people for who they are (race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar);
- scams and phishing: fake giveaways, fake support, requests for keys or recovery phrases, look-alike addresses, links to wallet drainers or malware;
- market manipulation: coordinated pump-and-dump, wash trading, spreading claims you know are false to move a price, or undisclosed paid promotion;
- impersonating a person, a project or Signal;
- posting someone's private information (doxxing);
- spam and automated posting;
- infringing someone else's copyright or trademark.
Moderation. New content passes an automatic filter before it appears. You can report any signal, reply, profile, message or token, and block anyone. We review reports, normally within 24 hours, and may remove or hide content, limit an account, remove a username, or ban a person from the community features. We act on content that breaks these rules whether or not it was reported. To appeal a decision, email support@signal.family. Moderation never touches your wallet or your funds: those stay yours and on chain.
10. Messages
Direct messages are private in the app but are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted. We read a conversation only when someone reports it, or when the law requires it. Signal will never message you first about a prize, a refund or a "wallet check", and will never ask for your key or recovery phrase.
11. Not advice
Nothing on Signal is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Numbers such as "since the signal" returns, holder payouts and rankings describe the past. Decide for yourself.
12. Availability
The live trades, the quotes and the buttons can lag, break or be wrong; the chain is the truth. Use the receipt links. We may change, pause or remove any feature, and the apps may offer fewer features than the website.
13. Other services
Signal works with services we do not control: HyperEVM and Hyperliquid, Privy, token contracts and pools, MoonPay for card purchases, Relay for bridging, block explorers. Their terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.
14. Our name and software
Signal's name, logo, design and software belong to us or our licensors. You may use Signal for your own personal use. Do not copy, resell or reverse engineer the apps, overload or attack our systems, scrape at a rate that harms the service, or use Signal to break these terms.
15. Ending
You can stop using Signal and delete your account at any time (You > Settings > Delete account, or signal.family/account/delete). We may suspend or end your access to community features, or to Signal, if you break these terms or the law, or to protect other people. Your wallet and its funds stay yours in every case. Sections 4, 7, 11 and 16 to 19 keep applying after you stop using Signal.
16. No warranty
To the fullest extent the law allows, Signal is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
17. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses from using Signal, including trading losses, lost profits, tokens that fail or are frauds, smart contract failures, network outages, or someone else getting access to your email or key. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of USD 100 and the fees you paid Signal in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
18. The app stores
These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for Signal, its content, support or any claim about it. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's standard licence terms for apps also apply, and Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as third-party beneficiaries. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
19. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Signal's publisher is established, unless the law where you live gives you the right to rely on your local law and go to your local courts.
20. Changes
These terms can change; the date at the top moves when they do. If a change is material, we will say so in the app before it takes effect. Using Signal after that means you accept the new terms.
