Use Signal
Launch a token
Open Launch. The page asks for three things:
- A picture (optional).
- A name, 2 or more characters and at most 32 bytes. An emoji counts as 4.
- A ticker, 2 to 10 characters: letters, numbers and
. _ $ -.
Then press Launch. One transaction creates the token and puts it straight into its own pool: no curve, no migration. There is no launch fee: you pay network gas only, and the page keeps 0.01 HYPE aside for it.
What you get if you change nothing
The row under the name, "Fees, pair, first buy", says the launch as it stands. By default:
1% fee, 100% you · against HYPE · no first buy
- The token is a Signal v4 launch: its own Uniswap v4 pool, with its rules held by Signal's hook.
- Supply is 1,000,000,000 tokens. All of it sits in the pool from the first second. Buyers bring the HYPE.
- Liquidity can never be removed, by anyone.
- Every trade pays a 1% fee. Signal takes its share of that fee first; the rest is yours, paid as fees come in, in the asset the token trades against (on a HYPE pair that is WHYPE, HYPE's ERC-20 form).
- Nothing is bought for you. The first buyer could be anyone.
What you can change
Press the row and everything else opens under it. Nothing above moves.
| Choice | Options |
|---|---|
| The fee every trade pays | 0.5%, 1%, 2%, 3% or 5% |
| Who gets it | Holders, you, buy back and burn, locked liquidity, in any mix |
| Your part | A buyer's pot, a vest, up to four co-recipients, another payout wallet |
| Extra fees | A buy tax, a sell tax, a size fee, a deviation fee |
| Launch protection | An opening fee, an opening budget, Signal-only buys, a whale cap |
| What it trades against | HYPE or another admitted asset |
| A first buy | Your own purchase, inside the launch |
| A first signal | A sentence posted on the token's page when it opens |
| Words and links | A description, X, Telegram, a site |
Each is explained in Signal v4 launches. All start off, except the 1% fee paid to you.
The fee rates and rules are fixed when the token is created. Afterwards you can only re-point where the fee goes, with 24 hours' notice. Decide before you launch.
What you need
- To be signed in, with a claimed @name.
- Some HYPE: the gas, and your first buy if you make one.
- A wallet on HyperEVM. Signal's own wallet, Rabby and MetaMask can launch anything that fits one block. Some other wallets add their own gas margin, and from them a heavy launch (many rules, a holders share, a first buy) can be refused as "Too heavy for your wallet". Launch it from a Signal wallet, or lighten it.
What you sign
- One signature for the picture and words. Words only, never funds.
- The launch transaction.
- If you typed a first signal, one more signature to post it.
- If your first buy is in an asset other than HYPE, an approval for exactly that amount first.
The page reads every term from the chain again before it asks your wallet, and it never sends a launch twice. If a launch's fate is unknown, the next press reads it first.
After it is live
"It's live. Trading is open on HyperEVM. Your rules are in the contract." The token's page opens at signal.family/t/<address>.
Read back what was created: the address, the fee, who it pays. A picture uploaded or a form filled in is not a launched token; a confirmed transaction is.
The earlier markets
The launch page can also open a token on Project X, Ramses or Hybra: exchange pools from before Signal v4, with their own fee choices and their own way of paying holders. Like a v4 launch, each goes straight into its pool, with no migration. Pick one with the market switch at the top of the opened choices.
- Project X: a 1% or 2% pool fee, paid to holders, to you, or to a buyback. It can also fund a perp position for holders.
- Ramses: a 1% to 5% pool fee. Pays holders, with up to half to you.
- Hybra: paired with HYBR; holders are paid in HYBR.
A first signal is required on these. Some of these launches need large blocks, which browser-extension wallets cannot sign: launch them from a Signal wallet.
New bonding-curve launches are not offered at present. A curve launch is the only kind that does not start in a pool: its pool opens at the curve's target. Curve tokens that exist keep trading; see bonding curves.
