Signal v4 launches

A Signal v4 token is born with its own market: a Uniswap v4 pool in which every trade runs through Signal's hook. It goes straight into that pool at launch: there is no curve and no migration. The hook holds the launch's rules. This page explains each rule, for the person choosing them and for the person about to buy a token that has them.

On a token's page the rules are shown as chips and a rule card. They are the contract's own values, not a description someone typed.

What every Signal v4 token has

FactValue
Supply1,000,000,000 tokens, 18 decimals, created once. No more can be made
Where the supply isIn the pool from the first second, placed above the start price. Buyers bring the other side
LiquidityLocked. No one can remove it: not the launcher, not Signal
TransfersWallet-to-wallet transfers are never charged. Fees apply to trades in the pool
FeesTaken by the hook on every trade, in the asset the token trades against
RulesFixed at launch

The launcher has no power to mint, freeze or pause, and cannot change the fee. The launcher can do two things after launch: re-point where the fee goes (below), and change the token's displayed name and ticker. On a token born with a living rule the launcher can also switch that rule off, with 24 hours' notice, after which the launch's own base fee applies. The token's address never changes, which is why the address is what you should check.

The choices on this page are the ones the launch page offers. The contract accepts any value inside its limits, so a token launched another way can carry a number not listed here. Always read the token's own page.

The fee every trade pays

The launcher picks 0.5%, 1%, 2%, 3% or 5%. It is charged on every buy and every sale.

Who gets it

Signal takes its share of every fee first. The launcher divides the rest among up to four places, in any mix:

RecipientWhat it does
HoldersEvery trade pays the people who hold the token
You, the creatorA share of every trade goes to the launcher
Buy back and burnFees buy the token from its own pool and burn it
Locked liquidityFees deepen the pool, locked forever

All of it is paid in the asset the token trades against, not in the token.

A token can pay holders only if it was born as a holders token: launched with a holders share, or with an opening, size or deviation extra that goes to holders. A token not born that way can never pay holders later.

Holders are paid by the token itself. Each time fees are divided, the holders' part is released to holders over five minutes, in proportion to what each holds during that time. You claim it from the token's page; a claim sends what you have earned so far. Tokens sitting in the pool earn nothing.

The burn is guarded. It buys a slice at a time (at most 10% of what is waiting, no more often than the launch set), and only while the price is near its recent average, so that a trader cannot profit by buying just before it.

The creator's part

Three options reshape the creator's own share. All need a creator share to exist.

  • Buyer's pot. Part of the creator's share collects in a pot. Every Nth buy made through Signal wins it, inside that same buy. Tiny buys do not count toward the Nth.
  • Vest. The creator's fee share is released gradually from launch over 30, 90 or 180 days. This vests fees, not tokens: the creator's tokens are never locked by it.
  • Co-recipients. Up to four other wallets take a set share of the creator's part each time fees are divided. Not available together with a vest.

Extra fees

Each is optional and off unless the launcher switched it on.

ExtraWhat it charges
Buy tax1%, 2% or 5% on buys, on top of the fee
Sell tax1%, 2% or 5% on sales, on top of the fee
Size feeSmall trades pay the base. A trade big enough to move the pool pays up to 2% or 5% more
Deviation feeA buy above the token's moving average, or a sale below it, pays up to 1%, 3% or 5% more. A trade that brings the price back pays the base

The ceiling. The fee, the larger tax, the size fee and the deviation fee together can never exceed 15%. The contract refuses a launch that asks for more.

The extra from a size fee, a deviation fee or an opening fee goes where the launcher chose: to holders, to the pool, or to the burn.

Launch protection

These rules shape the first minutes or hours. Each ends by itself and none can be extended.

RuleWhat it doesLongest
Opening feeThe fee starts high and falls in a straight line to the base fee. It applies to every buy and every sale while it runs99% at the start, 90 minutes
Opening budgetAll buyers together can take at most a set share of the supply per block. Splitting a buy across wallets does not help24 hours
Signal-onlyBuys come only through Signal's router. Other routers and aggregators are refused24 hours
Whale capA buy that would lift a wallet over a set share of the supply is refused. Buys from other routers are refused while it runs24 hours

A sale is never blocked. No rule on this page can stop a holder from selling. A sale inside an opening window does pay the opening fee.

Two presets fill these in:

  • Fair launch: an opening fee of 90% falling to the base in one minute, and an opening budget of 1% of supply per block for ten minutes. The same for every buyer through any router.
  • Strategy: an opening fee of 99% falling to the base over an hour. Early traders fund the coin; a patient one pays the base.

If you are about to buy during an opening

The ticket shows a banner with the fee right now and a countdown: "Opening fee N% right now. It drops to M% when the clock runs out." At 90%, a tenth of what you spend buys tokens. If you sell before the window ends you pay the opening fee again on the way out. The fee is lower every second you wait; the price may not be.

What it trades against

HYPE is the default. A launch can trade against another admitted asset: other Hyperliquid tokens, tokens launched on Signal, stock tokens and dollar stables. The launch page lists them ("32 admitted" on 12 October 2026).

  • Every fee and every payout of the token is in that asset.
  • The list is the factory's, and Signal adds to it. The launch page states the rule: a token launched on Signal qualifies once it has held a $20,000 market cap for 24 hours; anything else after a review, asked for from its token page.
  • Some assets keep a cut of their own transfers. PSTR keeps 10% on every move in and out, about 19% for a round trip. Every amount received from such a pool (buys, sales, payouts, claims) lands after that cut. The launch page says so before you choose it, and such a token can still be bought and sold with HYPE.

Your first buy

Optional. It is bought inside the launch itself, before anyone else can trade, and it pays the same fee as anyone buying at that second.

  • You are guaranteed at least 98% of the tokens the page showed, or the whole launch does not happen.
  • With an opening budget or a whale cap on, your own first buy counts against it.
  • With an opening fee on, a first buy paid in HYPE is held until the opening ends and then sent at the base fee, with one tap. Others can trade before it. A first buy paid in another asset stays inside the launch and pays the opening fee: the hook cannot tell the creator from a sniper.

What can change after launch

Where the fee goes. The name and ticker can change too (above); the rates and rules cannot. The wallet that launched can propose a new division between creator, holders, liquidity and burn, or new co-recipients.

  • Every change waits 24 hours in the open before anyone can switch it on. The token's page announces it: "The fee split is changing to …".
  • The creator's part can never go above what it was at launch.
  • Holders can be paid only by a token born to pay holders.
  • The fee itself, the taxes and every rule never change.

A token born with a living rule has a module: a contract the hook asks for the base fee of each trade, inside a band fixed at launch. The module can read anything and change nothing. It can never block a sale, and it cannot push the fee outside the band.

The numbers behind the launch

The whole supply is placed in four bands above the start price: 10% of it closest to the start, then 30%, 35% and 25% further up. On a HYPE pair on 12 October 2026 the start valued the full supply at about 54 HYPE. These are the factory's settings and can be changed for future launches; a launched pool's are fixed.
